North Paravur is a municipality in Ernakulam district in the Indian state of Kerala. It is a
northern suburb of the city of Kochi and is situated around 20 km from the city centre The
town is spread across an area of about 9.02
square kilometres. It is situated at an elevation of about 13 m above sea level. According
to the 2011 census, North Paravur has a total population of 42839. The male and female
populations are 20932 and 21907 respectively.
There was a time when Paravur was famous in the district for its traditional
industries like coir, handlooms and agriculture. Now it is changing to a major residential
suburb of Cochin where people are looking for
