Musiri is a Panchayat town in the Tiruchirappalli district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It has an average elevation of 82 meters (269 feet). The original name of this town was "Musukundapuri", named after a Chola king Musukundan. This is apparent from the devotional song composed by the local Vishnu devotees in Agrahaaram (the area where Brahmins live).
