The Tarakeshwara Temple is a massive building adorned with images and pillars dating from the mid-12th century Chalukya period dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva in his form as Tarakeshwara.
The exterior walls are adorned with Dravidian and Nagara-style miniature shikaras. The accessible main hall's pillars are made of lathe-turned timber. They have a bell-shaped segment as well as other decorations such as elephants and diamond-shaped motifs in bands. The elephants' trunks are carved such that there appears to be a gap between them and the pillars. The details of the band motifs differ. The main hall of the temple has a high domed ceiling. It is made up of concentric rings of cusped mouldings. The top falls rosette or pendant pattern at the apex. The overhanging roof is shaped like a stepped pyramid.
The Hangal fort's Jain temple is situated on the grounds of the department of horticulture. It was built around 1150 AD. The Hoysala-style temple is beautifully decorated, but it needs renovation and reconstruction. The temple was constructed in stages. It had an open hall and a chapel, all of which are now in ruins. Flowers, garlands, Torana, plants, birds, and deities were among the sculptural decorations. The upper portion of the walls was particularly ornate. Thin pilasters adorn the temple walls as well. The pillars in the open hall have been lathe-turned.
The Billeshwara temple is constructed in the Hoysala architecture. The doorframe of the garbhagudi in this temple has elaborately carved jambs. There are five carved figures at the bottom of each side. Manmatha is shown in the central projection. Rati is right by his side. Daksha (the goat-headed deity) appears as well, and attendants flank both. The temple has an unfinished sanctuary face. The temple's exterior walls are adorned with temple tower patterns and carved diamond-shaped depressions. Carved serpents with intertwined tails, birds, singers, and foliage are depicted in the square plates.
