Halisahar is a city in the Parganas district in the Indian state of West Bengal. The
population of Halisahar was 124,939 in 2011, recorded by the India census. The official
languages of this place are Kannada and English. It is believed that Halisahar existed from
the early Middle Ages. It was known as Haveli Shahar in the 13th century during the reign of
