blackbucks. It consists of two parts, one east and the other west. The refuge has a 14.87
km2 central area and a 104.13 km2 buffer cum area. Desert forests and plantations of
Eucalyptus largely occupy this. Farming areas surround the sanctuary.
The refuge is also populated by the great Indian bustard and the wolf, which are very rare. However, since 2002 the tremendous Indian Busta has not been seen in the sanctuary and may be extinct locally.
